Rounded Corners in CSS

How does DawnReel.com get those adorable little rounded corners? Sure, you could use complex tables or JavaScript. But there is an easier and better way to do it in CSS. I got this online from the wonderful web technologist, AdamKalsey.com.

This tutorial is on his website at:

How do I get those cute little icons before my website name in the address bar and when it is added to My Favorites?

1. You need a Icon Maker program. There is a good free one AWicons-lite. Of course you can pay for the professional version as well. Download this or any other. And no, Photoshop can't make icons.

2. If you'd like to design your icon in Photoshop or another image editting program open it up. Make the size 16 pixel wide and 16 pixel in height. Make it RGB. Try to stick to 8 colors. Then copy your creation to your clipboard.

3. Open up your icon making software and go Edit --> Paste. Then Save the image as favicon.ico (I don't know why this name, it's a windows thing). Upload to your website.

Now when someone bookmarks your website they'll get the cute little icon next to their bookmark and your site will stand out! Want a longer tutorial? See NetMechanic.

Okay, now how do I get my cute icon to show up in the address bar next to my website address? Secify the icon file with a <LINK> element like this:
< LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="/pathname/filename.ico">
